Volunteering

CCA has many opportunities for animal lovers!  Just a few of the areas that are available for volunteer opportunities are listed below. If any of these opportunities are of interest, please complete our Volunteer Registration Form and send it to us!  Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch to get you started!

Shelter Assistance

Our no-kill shelter is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in day-to-day animal care activities and to step in so our caretaker gets a day off on Sundays!  Shelter activities include grooming, feeding, cleaning runs/play areas/cat rooms, minor maintenance, grass cutting, weed eating and so on.  Volunteers also participate in socialization activities and even handle the dogs for basic behavior and obedience training sessions!

Animal Transport

With lots of animals to care for, there is generally someone who needs a trip to the vet, to the groomer, an adopt-a-thon, or training event.  Sometimes the logistics mean we need help from our terrific volunteers to see that the "furkids" get to their appointments!

Fund Raising and Special Event Assistance

CCA relies on donations, special events, and grants to continue its work.  Willing hands are always needed to assist in this area.  We particularly need volunteers to man booths at local events as well as to participate in major fundraisers such as yard sales and the annual Bark in the Park Walk-A-Thon and Festival.

Donation Collections

From time to time, individuals and organizations donate supplies, food, equipment and other needed items to CCA.  Help is needed to collect, organize and distribute these items.

Humane Education and Community Outreach

Education is a primary concern for rescue organizations such as CCA.  Volunteers are needed for community outreach programs to make more people aware of CCA, it's mission and it's needs as well as to educate the public on various topics related to responsible pet ownership.

Advertising and Communication

CCA publishes a monthly newsletter, PawPrints, as well as a host of brochures, flyers and other media.  Writers, editors, distributors, are needed to keep these publications timely in their content and distribution.
